Apparel merchandising is all about a set of tools and techniques, which covers everything from generating orders to delivering quality goods to the end customer or the customer’s hand at competitive prices.

The person who deals with the total Apparel merchandise process specifically for export purposes is known as Apparel Merchandiser /Merchant.

Apparel merchandising belongs of significant importance in Garment and Textile industry.
Without efficient merchandising, by a merchandiser, no order can be executed on time.
If Merchandiser doesn’t follow the buyer’s guidelines during the production process and, in any case, the product does not meet the required quality standard, the goods will not be shipped further. It results in a stock lot and creates bank liabilities for the manufacturer.
If the value of the shipment is huge, the bank may refuse to open any more LCs in favor of the factory, and the factory is supposed to shut down.
If the merchandiser understands his duties and responsibilities and can do a constant follow-up on all of the required fabric, accessories, knitting, dyeing, printing, embroidery, production, and lab tests as scheduled while maintaining proper quality, then only goods exported will move on the due date. So, goods quality sense and following the set guidelines by the buyer is mandatory in Merchandising.
Another essential merchandising part is that if any job is not done as per the ” Time and Action Plan ,” goods production will get messy,” and the result may be air shipment of the consignment. It’s incurred huge costs, and it will not be possible to ship out goods. In such circumstances, the customer’s special permission or consideration is required to ship the goods by sea or contribute a certain percentage of the total air cost.
So, goods-on-time delivery forecasting ability is a must for fashion merchandisers.
So, the final word is, there is no other way to have efficient and effective merchandising throughout the total process where its involved.
